Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN

Job Summary

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of patient care.
  • Supervises LPN and CAN staff in providing patient care.
  • Evaluates patient care daily by assessing patients and reviewing nursing documentation.
  • Supervises all clinical nursing activities assuring the comfort and safety of the patients.
  • On admission of a patient, the RN is to perform and document the initial interview and assessment.
  • Delegate patient assignments to LPN staff.
  • Initiate the Care Plan process for each patient admitted.
  • Will assess or review patient assessment for each patient at least once in a 24-hour period.
  • Initiate patient education before discharge.
  • Provides nursing care and medication administration according to hospital policy and procedure.
  • Records all documentation accurately and performs 24-hour chart checks including monitoring completion of daily plan of care updates in the EHR.
  • Compliance with HIPAA policy and procedures.
  • Communicates a positive and caring attitude towards the patient and the family.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Louisiana.
  • Demonstrate leadership and supervision abilities.
  • Successfully complete hospital orientation.
  • Maintain current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications or required to obtain certifications within 90 days after the hire date.
  • Satisfactory completion of annual evaluation and competencies.

Requirements

  • Required to schedule ONE 12-hour shift on a 6-week schedule and ONE 12-hour On-Call shift per month.
  • You must work at least one shift in a 6-week period at regular pay before qualifying for premium pay. Once met, you may pick up any premium pay offers in that schedule period.
  • Skills in dexterity for moving and positioning patients.
  • Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting patients.
