Job Summary
- Perform a variety of complex clinical cardiopulmonary care procedures as prescribed by a physician.
- Adheres to the provisions of the Compliance Program by complying with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work after-hours-call and overtime when workload demand requires it.
- Will maintain a patient-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur to ensure patient satisfaction is met at all times.
- Will be proficient in all modes of Oxygen Therapy, Aerosol Therapy, Chest Physiotherapy, and Hyperinflation Therapy. Complete tracheostomy care, intra-tracheal suctioning, prolonged artificial ventilation, mask and nasal continuous positive airway pressure ventilation, endotracheal intubation, and extubation.
- Performs EKG, Holter Monitoring, and Pulmonary Function testing.
- Perform basic maintenance to all cardiopulmonary equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Louisiana Respiratory Therapist License and national accreditation as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist.
- Current PALS, ACLS, BLS, MOAB – available onsite.
Physical Requirements
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting and standing. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, balancing, and kneeling.
- Ability to regularly lift, move, or carry items weighing 10 pounds. Frequently lift, move, or carry items up to 25 pounds. Occasionally assist in moving patients or equipment that weighs more than 100 pounds.
